WHAT WE DID

The medical experts at Seattle’s Virginia Mason heath system have been on the front lines of the coronavirus outbreak since day one. We were honored to support that life-saving work by producing three separate virtual fundraisers for Virginia Mason in 2020:

Client: Virginia Mason Foundation

Event Type: Virtual Fundraisers

Project Date: July — October 2020

  • Supporting Our COVID-19 Heroes — For their first-ever virtual fundraiser, Virginia Mason asked us to showcase their first responders through a series of pre-produced videos. We filmed at the hospital (with PPE and safety measures in place) to offer a behind-the-scenes look at what it was like to meet COVID head-on. We then tied it all together with an hour-long livestream featuring in-studio host Kevin Joyce. By the end of the night, VM had raised over $930,000 to support their first responders.

  • Swirl: A Benefit for Bailey-Boushay House — During the coronavirus pandemic, those dealing with homelessness and/or pre-existing conditions like AIDS are among the most at-risk. That’s where Virginia Mason’s Bailey-Boushay House comes in. To help Bailey-Boushay meet the need, Virginia Mason took its annual Swirl fundraiser online. This event has always been a fun, wine-themed affair, so we went live from a winery, filmed a socially-distanced wine tasting, and opened the show with a tongue-in-cheek musical number. The evening also featured a virtual auction.

  • Illuminations Virtual Luncheon — Virginia Mason’s Benaroya Research Institute is spearheading critical research into diseases like type 1 diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis and, now, COVID-19. The Institute’s annual fundraiser has always celebrated the work of its researchers, so for this year’s virtual edition, we needed to find a way to bring that research to life in a livestream. We paired pre-recorded research showcases with hand-drawn animations to make Benaroya’s researchers the stars of the show, which culminated in over $300,000 raised to support their work.
